Mick Schumacher insists nothing has changed after it was confirmed he will drive in the Formula 1 test next week.

The 20-year-old will step behind the wheel of the 2019 Ferrari on Tuesday in Bahrain before taking over at Alfa Romeo on Wednesday.

This comes ahead of another big weekend for the German as he prepares to make his F2 debut but Schumacher is taking everything in his stride.

"It's just the way it has always been," he told Kolner Express of the extra attention.

"If you take someone who is not used to it and put him in my position, maybe it would be different. I had the time to grow in there and that helped me a lot."

His uncle, former Williams & Toyota driver Ralf Schumacher admits, however, that he wishes the expectations were a little lower.

"It should be a little bit more relaxed for him and first let him develop," he was quoted by GPFans.com.

"He proved his potential with the Formula 3 championship, but in Formula 2 everything starts from scratch."

That isn't stopping some from dreaming though, with it not lost on anyone that a strong season in F2 could pave the way to an Alfa Romeo seat as early as next year.
