George Russell was left frustrated with the performance of his Williams, believing the performance had gotten worse since Friday.
The Briton finished just 0.04s ahead of teammate Robert Kubica in their private battle at the back of the grid but a massive 1.5s shy of the next best car, Lance Stroll in P18.
While accepting the result wouldn't have been any different, last year's Formula 2 champion still feels he fell short of his target.
“It was a little bit of a disappointing session actually,” he told Formula1.com. “The car was feeling much better yesterday than it did in qualifying.
“Even though we are not fighting for more than 19th at the moment we have to optimise the package we have and today we didn’t do that.”

His comments come after Kubica explained the performance of his car was inconsistent to Russell's despite the pair using the same setup.
And asked if he could pinpoint where the Williams had regressed, the 20-year-old said: “I’m not too sure, to be honest.
“It is still early days for everyone in the championship and we need to go back and analyse it.”
As for his hopes on Sunday, Russell conceded it was another 300km of testing to try and understand the FW42.
“I think so unfortunately but that’s where we are the moment so we need to make the most of it,” he concluded.
