Romain Grosjean believes Haas can still turnaround their difficult season starting from this weekend's Belgian Grand Prix.

The American outfit has often had a fast qualifying car but then fell back in the races with only a double points score in Germany to show since Monaco.

A lack of results has led to growing expectations that Grosjean will be replaced for 2020 with Nico Hulkenberg now considered the likely choice, but the Frenchman isn't worried about that heading to Spa.

“It maybe doesn’t feel like a new season, but it does feel like a fresh start," he said via GrandPrix247. “It’s always good because everyone’s well-rested and ready to attack the second part of the season."

Currently, Haas sit a lowly ninth in the Constructors' standings only ahead of Williams, but with only 17 points between them and fifth, Grosjean is still optimistic.

"Anything can happen – that’s why you should never give up. We’re going to do our best obviously, but on paper, things are a bit more complicated than they were last year," he acknowledged.

“But again, with a good summer break and a good understanding of our issues, we could be back on target for a really good points finish, just like Austria last year where we scored 22 points in one event.”

Haas' efforts to turnaround their results have seen Grosjean and teammate Kevin Magnussen run different cars in recent races, with Romain using the Australia-spec compared to the Dane with the most upto date design.

That changes from Belgium, however, with the team hoping they've resolved some issues.

“For Spa, we will go with the upgraded car, which we ran at Hockenheim,” Haas chief Guenther Steiner revealed.

“We’ve learned quite a bit out of it and tried to improve the car by changing some of the components.

“Both cars will be the same spec, and hopefully we can still learn more about it.”
