Formula 1 rang in 2020 by unveiling a new logo celebrating the 70th anniversary since the first world championship.

On May 13th 1950, 23 drivers took the track at Silverstone for the inaugural race, the British Grand Prix, won by Guiseppe Farina for Alfa Romeo.

Now, 1018 races, 764 drivers, over 150 teams, 108 different winners and 33 champions later, F1 will commemorate the historic milestone with the new logo which will be prominent throughout the upcoming 2020 season.

And this year will see the sport embark upon its busiest ever calendar with 22 races across five continents, including two new Grands Prix in Vietnam and the Netherlands, the latter hosting its first F1 GP since 1985.

Lewis Hamilton enters 2020 looking to make history by matching Michael Schumacher as a seven-time world champion while his Mercedes team also goes in search of an unprecedented seventh consecutive double championship triumph.

Ferrari and Red Bull may well be in their best position to challenge their recent domination, however, with four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel and the next generation of stars, led by Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, eager to knock Hamilton off his throne.

And the battle to decide who'll become champion in this anniversary year begins with the Australian Grand Prix on March 14th!
