Anthoine Hubert has died from injuries sustained in a horrific crash during Saturday's Formula 2 feature race at Spa-Francorchamps.
The Frenchman had already crashed into the barriers at the top of Raidillon before Juan-Manuel Correa smashed into his stricken car at full speed in the run-off area.
Immediately the race was cancelled with emergency services on the scene to assist Hubert, however, the FIA revealed he later passed away at 6:35pm.
Correa was also taken to a nearby hospital in Liege with his condition described as stable and Guiliano Alesi, who was the first car to lose control through Raidillon was also checked at the circuit and declared fit.
An investigation has been launched by the FIA into the crash.

F1 drivers have been quick to pay tribute to Hubert, with many of the younger drivers competing with the 22-year-old in karting and other junior series.
Lewis Hamilton also posted his thoughts and prayers via social media and spoke of the dangers of racing despite all recent efforts to improve safety.
“If a single one of you watching and enjoying this sport think for a second what we do is safe [you’re] hugely mistaken,” he told RaceFans.
“All these drivers put their life on the line when they hit the track and people need to appreciate that in a serious way because it is not appreciated enough. Not from the fans nor some of the people actually working in the sport.
“Anthoine is a hero as far as I’m concerned, for taking the risk he did to chase his dreams. I’m so sad that this has happened. Let’s lift him up and remember him. Rest in peace brother.”
